Some info on our digital products.

TranscontinentalMusic.com features a digital catalog of thousands of individual products. Our books and sheet music are always available digitally, and when a physical (print) version is available, you will see the option appear on the product detail page along with the digital version. If a physical version is not available, you will not see an option to purchase it.

Our digital products are available in various formats, depending on the product.

  • Most individually-published sheet music and individual songs from a songbook download as a PDF file.

  • Songbooks download as a compressed .zip file. Simply double-click on this file to view the music files. Each songbook comes with a single PDF of the entire book, as well as a folder of each song as an individual PDF. If a songbook has an accompanying album of music, there will be an “AUDIO” folder, containing individual .mp3 files.

  • Albums also download as a .zip file, containing .mp3 files.

Please purchase the appropriate number of copies of your music.

You will notice that, for choral music purchases, there is a minimum purchase requirement. For example, if a piece requires solo voice, SATB choir, and a piano, at the minimum, to be performed, we require a purchase of six copies. However, you are required by law to purchase the appropriate amount of copies for your ensemble, so if you have a choir of 20 people, please purchase 20 copies. Similarly, if you use a single song from a songbook for your band, please purchase the appropriate number of copies.

Digital purchases include a cover page and footer reflecting the number of copies purchased (and therefore licensed for use by you) and the purchaser’s name.

I have specific questions about one of your products.

Often, many questions are answered by reviewing specific product information on each product’s page. There is handy data like key, year, voicing, and more, as well as a multiple-page preview of each piece (including individual songs within a songbook). If you still need more information, please email your request.

Payment Methods

TMP only accepts credit cards as payment. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

Copyright / Fair Use

For a thorough FAQ regarding copyright and fair use, from both legal and Jewish perspectives, see our Practical Guide to Copyright, by Adrian Durlester.

TMP owns and administers JLicense.com, a new licensing agency that we have created to license copyrighted Jewish music and lyrics for uses like live streaming, podcasting, projection, rehearsal recording, custom arrangements, etc. Artists, composers, songwriters, and authors can be fairly compensated for your use of their music in the aforementioned formats, and more. We highly recommend every Jewish institution sign up for an annual license. They are affordable and designed for organizations like yours.

To obtain mechanical rights (to record one of our compositions), most are available from the Harry Fox Songfile service. For public performance, most compositions are registered with ASCAP.

Pricing and Special Discounts

Prices are subject to change without notice. URJ member congregations in good standing and members (in good standing) of the ACC and GTM are eligible for a 15% discount. When registering for an account, check the appropriate box to receive your discount. We will confirm your membership.

If you are a TMP composer or HUC/JTS/AJR student, please contact us for a special discount code before you place your order.

In addition, you will see that on songbook products we offer an extra 10% discount if you purchase the digital and physical (print) versions together.

What types of products does Transcontinental Music publish?

We publish our own songbooks (folios), anthologies, recordings, and choral sheet music. We do not distribute products not published by TMP.

How do I submit music to be considered for publication?

You can submit your Jewish music here, but please carefully read our guidelines first. We occasionally issue calls for submission for a particular songbook project. Like our Facebook page to hear about these.

What if I need to return my order?

Print product returns must be made within 60 days. All products must be in saleable condition. Items that have been superseded by new editions or that are discontinued will not be accepted for credit. Used or damaged merchandise cannot be accepted for refund. Unless you are returning the product(s) as a result of a TMP error, TMP is not responsible for shipping charges on returns. Returns may be subject to a re-stocking charge. All returns must be accompanied by a copy of the invoice and once received, we will credit your account. We reserve the right to reject returned merchandise that does not meet the proper requirements.
